DATOS GENERALES
Descripción de la Organización
The UK Mexican Arts Society is a non-for-profit organisation focused on fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange and interaction between British and Mexican cultural institutions, other artistic initiatives, as well as creative practitioners and the public.
Through a programme of exhibitions, events, residencies, workshops and partnerships, it brings together the two geographical contexts.
We seek to promote Mexican art from different historical periods as well as contemporary British and UK based practices, by organising activities in our gallery in London and other spaces in Mexico.
We also support the acquisition of artworks by established and emergent artists for British and Mexican public institutions.
Our History.
The UK Mexican Arts Society was established in 2020 as an extension of the former Chalton Gallery (2015-2020). With the aim of enhancing artistic and curatorial research and experimentation, Chalton Gallery had an inclusive and heterogeneous agenda. It supported over 200 international artists who exhibited their work in the gallery and in off-site locations across London and Mexico City.
The UK Mexican Arts Society is a registered Charity with the Number 1191066.
