Descripción de la Organización
Ramis Barquet was established in 1987 in Monterrey, Mexico with the purpose of promoting the work of contemporary artists, mostly with an emphasis in Latin American art. Since then, the gallery has organized more that 200 one-person exhibitions, and consequently, the role of the gallery has become crucial in expanding markets for Latin American Art in the international scene.
In 1996, the gallery extended its operations to New York City, opening a gallery space. In New York, Ramis Barquet represents the work of mid-career and emerging artists from Latin America, as well as renowned European artists that have not received full exposure in the United States.
Ramis Barquet is also an active participant in international art fairs and in the secondary market of preeminent 20th Century artists, such as works by Latin American Masters such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, Wifredo Lam and Roberto Matta.
The gallery is now located in the Starrett-Lehigh building on West 26th street.
