Descripción de la Organización
Galeria Filomena Soares was established in 1999 in Lisbon. Its main goal is to promote contemporary artistic production, aiming for a productive dialogue between artists, curators, and institutions active in the national and international scene.
The gallery is located in the eastern part of Lisbon, which for decades was a key industrial hub for the city's growth and is now one of the areas with the highest incidence of urban regeneration projects. The gallery space, which covers approximately 1000 m2, consists of two rooms with different scales and means, allowing for the hosting of a wide range of exhibitions and artistic events.
Since its inception, the gallery has produced monographic editions of contemporary art that can be purchased or consulted in one of the rooms reserved for the public.
The gallery’s programming is guided by a strategy that aims to establish continuous relationships with artists working across various artistic media. In this context, the gallery's participation in prestigious contemporary art fairs, as well as collaboration with international curators – such as David Rimanelli, Rosa Martinez, Jurgen Bock, and David Rosenberg – is one of the ongoing developmental lines.
