Descripción de la Organización
BCAF is the only publicly-funded foundation and cultural think tank in China focusing on the development of contemporary humanities and arts. BCAF is dedicated to discovering cultural innovation and advancing the public welfare of art. Through extensive and dynamic public programs in three major fields (including cultural innovation, art public welfare, and think tank research), BCAF hopes to share the arts and culture freely and equally with the public in order to develop a civil society based on the concept of “Creative China.”
BCAF collaborated closely with a range of international platforms including Chinese Ministry of Culture, the European Union Department of Education and Culture, UNESCO, UNDP, documenta, Venice Biennale, Venice Architecture Biennale, Cannes International Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, New York Fashion Week, Asia Contemporary Art Week, Beijing Design Week, Sino-Europe/Sino-US/Sino-France High-Level People to People Dialogue, Sino-German Cultural Year, and Sino-German Youth Innovation Year, etc. Our programs also encompassed globally influential guests and collaborators including Umberto Eco, Italian writer; Gabriel de Broglie, Head of Académie française; Rem koolhaas, Dutch architect; Félix W. Ortiz, Assistant Speaker of the New York State Assembly; Yu Hua, Chinese writer; Chinese artists Song Dong and Yu Hong; Chinese musician Tan Dun; Chinese architects Liu Jiakun and Zhang Yonghe; documentary filmmaker Wang Bing, and dancer Wen Hui, etc.
Our notable projects include China Art Film Fund 2017 (supporting film projects have been awarded the Golden Leopard at Locarno Film Festival, the Short Film Palme d'Or at the 70th Festival de Cannes, and participated in documenta 14), Creative China Festival 2017 (in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston), China Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2015, Sino-France Cultural Forum 2014, Sino-India Cultural Connections 2014, Chinese New Folk Craft Series, Chinese Arts and Design for Public Welfare Alliance, Chinese Philanthropy Film Development Project, Supporting Chinese Young Talents, and International Artist Residency Project, etc.
