Descripción del Artista
Madrid, 1970
Graduate of Fine Arts in the Complutense University of Madrid, she finished studies at the Vicennes Saint Denis University in Paris. Her professional career has moved in the graphic design, textile and visual art fields, although painting has become the main meaning of her artistic expression.
In her praxis, she uses elements of the everyday life with a baroque-inspired chiaroscuro that gifts with an irreverent mysticism.
Her work is essentially visual, reflects her personal imaginary with dreamlike components charged of elements belonging to traditional and devotional imagery coexisting with iconic winks from the current popular culture.
Both, her past and current works, are characterized by a parodic representation of emotions and traditions, consciously mixed with the iconographic heritage that she has treasured throughout her existence.
In this 2.020 series of paintings, (Rosario) delivers a set of unsettling, strange, gloomy and disturbing images, showing a sinister reality with a hint of criticism of everything sacred.
