Descripción del Artista
Ramón Laserna studied Industrial Design. While studying, he became interested in photography first and then in kinetic art. He then decided to fuse these two disciplines and has been working on and investigating the subject for about 8 years.
He works mainly with urban fragments, looking for line and colour, becoming abstract and geometric sometimes; mixing two picts sometimes, creating what he calls ensambleges (ensamblajes), one image mixed with mirrors at a 90 degree or a180 degree angle (esquineros) and other techniques which he calls photographic grids. His work is the sum of design, photography and kinetism.
He always tries to involve an optical illusion, giving movement to his work. His work has been shown at Casas Reigner Gallery (Bogota, Colombia), the Museum of Modern Art (Bogota Colombia), the Fotologia6 International Festival of Photography and the ArtBo International Art Fair in Bogota, among others and he is now working on a show in Palermo curated by Raffaella Guidobono.
