Collector and business magnate. In November of 2018 he sold Art Media Holdings, LLC -the parent company of Artnews and Art in America- to Penske Media Corporation (PMC) from Jay Penske. Penske has not previously been involved in the art world, though he currently controls sixteen publications and entertainment and luxury brands, including Rolling Stone, the Robb Report, Variety, IndieWire, and Deadline. Brant also owned Interview magazine, founded by Andy Warhol. This publication declared bankruptcy and ceased publication in May; however, it was revived in September after Brant voided $3.3 million in outstanding debts and repurchased it under a new holding company, Crystal Ball Media, whose president is his daughter, Kelly Brant.
