Oscar Lara

Oscar Lara was born in Lima, Peru, in 1977. He started his career as a visual artist in Lima and continued his study in Australia, where he was awarded a Master of Creative Arts degree from the University of Wollongong. Exhibited internationally, his work has been acquired privately from public collections. Some of his recent work involves sculpture installations, video documentaries, performance and social development projects. Oscar has collaborated with institutions such as Roda Sten Konsthall - Sweden, Museum of World Culture - Sweden, Can Serrat Art Center - Spain, Valand Academy - Sweden, Casamarles AIR - Spain, Centro Rural de Arte de Argentina, Fabrikken for Kunst og Design - Denmark and TETEM kunstruimte - Holland. In 2009, He started a project based in the recycling of human beings phenomenon that we live now days, subject he continues researching. Oscar lives and works in Stockholm and Lima and is currently working in his last project 'Within Heritage Movements' with the support of the Royal Institute of Arts - Sweden, Innovative Kultur and the Museum of World Culture.
