Nadim Julien Samman read Philosophy at University College London before completing a doctorate in art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art. In 2016 is the curator of 5th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art, Moscow.
Curator of more than forty exhibitions, including Alexander Ponomarev. Concordia (Antarctic Pavilion, Fondaco Marcello, Venice, 2014); Rare Earth (with Boris Ondreička; Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Vienna, 2014); Treasure of Lima: A Buried Exhibition (Isla del Coco, Costa Rica, 2014); 4th Marrakech Biennale (with Carson Chan; Marrakech, 2012). The author of numerous articles on modern art in the magazines Third Text, Immediations, Art Review, ArtChronika, Contemporary, Asian Affairs and Art India, as well as The Art Newspaper.
He has presented papers and lectures at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, the Beijing Biennale 798, the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, and others.
Nadim Samman is also the co-director of the curatorial initiative Import Projects (Berlin), editor of Near East Magazine, and onetime curator of the Austrian art foundation Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21) in Vienna. He is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA).
