Descripción del Artista
Marta Troya is a Spanish artist who presents herself as Sona in her artistic practice. Her work is an ongoing personal narrative that serves as a diary to record her life. In her work she explores a variety of themes that are heavily related to her own personal life, sometimes connected to events from her childhood or her family and ancestry. Marta creates under the pseudonym of Sona to remove the ego from artistic creation and she maintains the belief that art is a process of self-discovery that is concerned with the well-being of human beings. The themes of her work are explored in a variety of mediums, from sewing and weaving, to ceramics, printmaking and etching.
