Artistas en su colección de arte
Descripción del Profesional del arte
In may 2019, collector and tech entrepreneur Markus Hannebauer (co-founder and CEO of think-cell) opened Fluentum, a private collection showroom focusing on video art, located in a building that once served as the administrative offices for the Nazi armed forces in the city’s southwest Dahlem district.
Hannebauer’s collection includes work by Andreas Gursky, Omer Fast, Hito Steyerl, William Kentridge, Hiwa K., and Douglas Gordon.
He intends to stage two exhibitions a year.
The space also houses Hannebauer’s residential accommodations upstairs and is open by appointment only.
The Fluentum collection is a collection of contemporary art by software entrepreneur Markus Hannebauer with a strong focus on time-based media art, namely video and film. Markus decided to give the collection its own name to step behind the works and present all activities related to them, which are not necessarily initiated by the collector himself.
Markus started collecting video art in 2010 when visiting LOOP in Barcelona for the very first time. On the occasion of this festival and art fair – which is entirely dedicated to video art – Markus found a piece by American video artist Reynold Reynolds called Secret Machine that became the first in a growing collection of works.
