Lara Khaldi is an independent curator based between Ramallah and Amsterdam. She recently completed the de Appel curatorial Programme, Amsterdam, and is also pursuing her MA degree at the European Graduate School. Khaldi was director of Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre, Ramallah from 2012-2013. She has curated a number of exhibitions some of which are: co-curator Father, Can’t You See I’m Burning?, de Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam, 2014; co-curator, Gestures in Time (Jerusalem show 6 and Riwaq Biennial 5) 2013; co-curator of Lonely Crowd (within /si:n/ festival of video art and performance) in Ramallah and Brussels, 2013/2014; co-curator of the 5th Jerusalem Show, On/Off Language, Al Ma'mal Contemporary Art Foundation, 2012; co-curator film and video programmes in 2009 and 2011 as part of the Arab Shorts initiative by Goethe, Cairo. She held the position of Assistant Director for programmes at the Sharjah Art Foundation, UAE from 2009 – 2011 and co-edited Provisions I&II with Bidoun Magazine (Sharjah Biennial 9 catalogues), 2009. Lara collaborates often with artist Yazan Khalili on lecture performances such as: All the Other Lovers, at the NEME symposium Through the Roadblocks, Limassol 2012, and Love Letters to a Union at HomeWorks 6, Beirut, 2013 and most recently Love Letter to Mars presented in September at Medrar, Cairo. She is also curating the 2015 Art Dubai Projects.
