Descripción del Artista
Born in El Salvador, Josefina Paz earns a degree in Visual Arts from the University of El Salvador in 2016 and moves to France in 2017. Her research » Sonic materiality, a symbolic relationship to the border » allows her to obtain her Master Degree in Contemporary Art Research and Creation from Panthéon Sorbonne University in 2020, with honors.
Josefina shapes a polymorph and poetic work that borrows elements from language, both spoken and written, in addition to other media such as drawing, photography and sculpture. Her visual and sonic works reflect on human and social issues that arise from dislocation. She explores and questions the notions of the visible and the invisible, repair and repetition both in art and in society.
She has been artist assistant to the Dominique Albertelli and Simon Vega, and curator assistant for Ilaria Conti and Charlène Dinhut, Centre Pompidou; Claire Breukel, YES Contemporary; Gabriela Covblic, Galerie Mansart and Mayra Barraza, Sala Nacional de Exposiciones Salarrué.
