Iris born in João Pessoa (1987), northeast of Brazil, Iris holds a degree in Fine Arts and is completing her master’s in Contemporary Poetics in the Fine Arts department at the Universidade de Brasília/Brazil. A critic and poetic investigation of the city and urban landscape characterize her work. She uses objects/surfaces removed from her daily consumption within a range of different artistic approaches, such as photography and installation. She held three solo exhibitions (2009, 2013, 2015) and participated in several collective exhibitions, among which the 61ª Salão de Abril, in Fortaleza/Brazil (2010), Prêmio EDP nas Artes, at the Instituto Tomie Ohtake in São Paulo/Brazil (2011), City As A Process at II Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art in Eketerinburg/Russia (2012) stand out. In 2011, she attended the program RUMOS ARTES VISUAIS edition 2011-2013 of Itaú Cultural/Brazil and participated in artistics residences: in Acre/Brazil (2012), Frankfurt/Germany (2013), Brasília/Brazil (2014) e Olhos D'agua, Goiás/Brazil (2015). Lives and works in Brasília.
