With a background as a visual artist, Irene Tsatsos’ curatorial practice is oriented toward artistic collaboration and production. She is currently the Gallery Director/Chief Curator at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena, CA. Previously she was the executive director of Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) and worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, where she coordinated the 1997 Biennial. Tsatsos has also been an independent curator and writer, collaborating with individual artists and institutions such as the Getty, the Annenberg Foundation and The Fowler Museum at UCLA. She has published extensively in periodicals and exhibition catalogs and has served on numerous grant review panels regionally and nationally.
