Dayana Trigo Ramos (Havana, Cuba | La Habana, Cuba; 1990) Artist based in Havana and Madrid | Artista radicada en La Habana y Madrid She is an artist and professor of visual arts, graduated from the National School of Fine Arts “San Alejandro” (2009) and Visual Arts Faculty of Higher Institute of Art (2014). Her first installation Metropolis (2006) was part of the collateral projects of the IX Biennial of Havana. She participated in S-T, a collective exhibition in May, 2009, at Cultural Center of Stockholm, Sweden. She was a member of the 4th Pragmatic and educational project of the artist René Francisco Rodríguez. During the period of 2010-2013 in the 4th Pragmatic, she made exhibitions such as CLASSPOOL, BANKRUPTCY and TRUST, including her participation in the 1st TRIENNIAL “OFFSIDE EFFECT”, in Georgia (May, 2012) and in CARTOGRAPHY OF THE IMPOSSIBLE, at the Center of Contemporary Art Wilfredo Lam (April, 2013). With the 4th Pragmatic, she was invited to the XI Biennial of Havana with the GENEROUS CITY project. Her first solo exhibition was THE SICKNESS OF OBLIVION (2013). In 2014 she presented the solo exhibition PERPETUAL CIRCULATION, research to get her Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts. She participated in the Can Serrat Art Residency, Barcelona, Spain in 2018, where developed the Personal Project: Concentric Horizons. She was invited to the XIII Havana Biennial with the project THE LEEDSKALNIN MACHINE AND OTHERS STORIES. She has been nominated for the CIFO Foundation Grants and Commissions program. She was selected as part of the Artistic Practices Residency program of Azkuna Zentroa (Bilbao) in collaboration with Artista X Artista for 2023. In the 2022, she was benefited by the Carolina Foundation with a scholarship to carry out the MiAC program at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid. He is currently developing his doctoral research "Structural pathology in art. The object-witness and the use of the symptom in contemporary artistic practices," at the university. Es una artista y profesora graduada de la Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes San Alejandro (2009) y de la Facultad de Artes Visuales del Instituto Superior de Arte (2014). Su primera instalación URBE (2006) fue parte de los proyectos colaterales de la IX Bienal de La Habana. Participó en la muestra colectiva S-T en mayo de 2009, en el Centro Cultural de Estocolmo, Suecia. Fue integrante del grupo 4th pragmática y proyecto pedagógico del artista René Francisco Rodríguez. Como parte de este proyecto realizó una serie de exhibiciones como CLASSPOOL, BANCA ROTA y TRUST, incluyendo la participación en la 1st TRIENAL “OFFSIDE EFFECT”, en Tiblisi, Georgia (mayo del 2012) y en la curaduría CARTOGRAFÍA DE LO IMPOSIBLE, en el Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wilfredo Lam (abril del 2013). Junto al grupo, fue invitada a la XI Bienal de La Habana con el Proyecto CIUDAD GENEROSA. Su primera exhibición personal fue ENFERMEDAD DEL OLVIDO (2013). En el 2014 realizó la exhibición personal CIRCULACIÓN PERPETUA, investigación para obtener la licenciatura. Realizó la Residencia de Arte Can Serrat en el 2018 donde desarrolló el proyecto personal Horizontes Concéntricos. Fue invitada a la XIII Bienal de La Habana con el proyecto LA MÁQUINA DE LEEDSKALNIN Y OTROS RELATOS. Ha sido nominada al programa de Becas y Comisiones de la Fundación CIFO. Fue seleccionada como parte del programa de Residencia de Prácticas Artísticas de Azkuna Zentroa (Bilbao) en colaboración con Artista X Artista para el 2023. En el año lectivo 2021-2022 fue beneficiada por la Fundación Carolina con una beca de estudios para realizar el programa MiAC en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Actualmente se encuentra desarrollando su investigación doctoral “La patología estructural en el arte. El objeto-testigo y el empleo del síntoma en las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas,” en dicha universidad.
