Descripción del Artista

In 2008, François Chaignaud and Cecilia Bengolea founded the company Vlovajob Pru. Cecilia Bengolea, originally from Argentina, studied Antropological dance, and History of Art at Buenos Aires University 1998-2001. Since 2001, based in Paris, she activates choreographic writting, and filmic languages. In 2004, she followed Exer.ce., Mathilde Monnier research program in Montpellier. Among others, Bengolea has worked with Joao Fiadeiro, Claudia Triozzi, Marc Tompkins, Yves-Nöel Genod, Alain Buffard, Mathilde Monnier. She collaborates with François Chaignaud since 2005, they have created in co-authorship; Pâquerette (2005-2008), Sylphides (2009), Castor & Pollux(2010), Free Dance from François Malcovski (2010), Mimosa together with Trajal Harrell, Marlene Freitas,(2011). Bengolea and Chaignaud work on a club creation for Bienale de Lyon 2012 and Festival d’Automne a Paris, Centre Pompidou, 2012. Bengolea and Chaignadud won the prize of the critic in 2009, choregraphic revelation for their pieces Pâquerette and Sylphides. In Buenos Aires, each summer (décember, january in South America) Bengolea plays Slaves of Art together with Victoria Colmegna (plastic artist), Jackie Luduenia Koslov (twice world champion of dance athetique), Valentina Liernur (gallerist, Papo’s vip). François Chaignaud, graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSM) in Paris (2002). Since then he has collaborated as a dancer with various choreographers such as Boris Chamartz, Emmanuelle Huynh, Gilles Jobin, Tiago Guedes, Alain Buffard, Dominique Brun… Since 2004 he has shown several performances and concerts, among others :He’s one that goes To sea for nothing but to make him sick (2005), La Culture des Individu.e.s (2006), Aussi bien que ton coeur, ouvre-moi les genoux (2008). He’s involved in many collaborations, a.o. with swiss artist Marie Caroline Hominal (Duchesses (2009), minimal hulla hoop performance), with french model Benjamin Dukhan, with cabaret artist Jérôme Marin (Sous l’ombrelle (2011)) or with american legendary drag queen Rumi Missabu from the Cockettes… Since 2005, he has collaborated with Cecilia Bengolea. Together they created Paquerette, Sylphides, Castor & Pollux, Danses Libres and a new piece to be premiered at Biennale de Lyon (sept 2012). Their pieces have received Critique Awards and are all curently touring internationally. In addition, he is active as an academic historian and has recently published a book about French early feminism (L’Affaire Berger-Levrault – les féminismes à l’épreuve, PUR, Rennes, 2009).
