Born in San Salvador, El Salvador, Carolina received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Christian University.
She currently resides in Dallas, where she works as Executive Director, since mid March 2022. Before that she was Deputy director of Dallas Contemporary, since mid December 2019.
And before she was Creative Time's Director of External Affairs' between August 2016 to December 2019. And previously, she was Head of Communications at El Museo del Barrio, New York City’s leading Latin American cultural institution.
Currently, Carolina serves on the Board of Directors of Y.ES Contemporary, dedicated to supporting and developing contemporary art in El Salvador and beyond, and serves as an advisor to Fundación Rafael Meza Ayau, her family’s foundation, that supports initiatives benefiting the most vulnerable sectors of El Salvador. In addition, she is an active supporter of Glasswing International, as well as Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education.
Carolina’s work in philanthropy has led her to form part of Nexus, a global movement of next-generation wealth holders, social entrepreneurs, and impact investors uniting to catalyze new leadership and accelerate solutions to global problems. Most recently, she was invited by the United Nations to discuss the topics of arts and conflict resolution.
