Descripción del Artista

Carlos Guzmán is a colombian artist. The expressive retaking of urban space and the identification between the media and political regimes, are some of the themes that run through his artistic practice. In his multimedia work, he reflects on the way the history could mediate actively into the present and the relation between sound and the territory construction. The exhibitions he has featured in include La vitrina, Lugar a dudas, Cali (2011), the 52nd Cartagena Film Festival and the 18° Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil. He is a member of the collective 0,29 and is a cofounder and member of the editorial board of the visual arts magazine {{em_rgencia}. Master in Visual Arts at ‘University of São Paulo’ (2016). Associated Researcher at ‘Fórum Permanente’ between 2013 and 2016. ‘Fórum Permanente’ is a cultural organization located in Sao Paulo, which works as action and cultural mediation platform in different levels of the contemporary art system.
