Antonio Chaurand (Celaya, México, 1989), lives and works in San Miguel de Allende, México, where he studied visual arts bachelor's degree (Guanajuato University). In 2011 he has been awarded with the first place at Guanajuato state painting contest Luis García Guerrero. In 2014 Chaurand has been granted with FONCA/CONACULTA Scholarship for young creators. In his ultra-realistic paintings he excel and capturing artificial lighting, depicting rich night and interiors scenes. Calling up Hopper and Sorolla, Antonio Chaurand renews a traditional medium by innovating the intimacy of causal individuals of 21st century.
