Born in the city of surrealism by excellence, Figueres, Albert Llobet Portell is an artist inspired by the richness of its history. The “tramuntana”, a distinctive, strong wind that blows in the north of Catalunya, is a typical ingredient that adds the little bit of maddness among their creative inhabitants, like the famed Salvador Dalí. Pushed by the winds and his curiosity for expression in the world of art and design, he travels south to Barcelona where he begins to harness his abilities. Throughout the years he has travelled to the US and London to gain knowledge and experience as a global artist. He has done an exchange program at Rhode Island School of Design and pursued a liscence from the University of Southampton, London. As a person and artist, these opportunities have opened his mind and broadened his perspectives of different cultures, markets, and the impact he can have in his profession. As an example, he exhi- bits and sells his artwork in a few states of USA, Puerto Rico, and his homeland of Catalunya. His background and experience throughout the years have forged his style in abstract renditions where he explores the richness of colors, textures, lines and compositions as if a child exploring through nature contrasted by the speed of the urban jungle.
