Installed in Cheonjiyeon Park, Jeju, South Korea, this piece is an interactive tribute to Jeju’s evolutionary story. Many millennia ago, the island of Jeju boiled up through the sea from the bowels of the earth. Rock from the planet’s core, now exposed to winds that covered it with earth and seeds; and where there’s earth, humans settle. We settled on Sanda-do; at Samyangdong’s Prehistoric Site; men of earth and sea, women of sea and earth: strong like the volcanic rock that created the island.
