YES Art Writers Grant 2018 with Arte al Día International

Premio: La subvención Y.ES para Teóricos del Arte se dedica a promover la crítica y cobertura de la práctica artística contemporánea en y sobre El Salvador. Este año, una subvención de $500 es otorgada a un escritor de cualquier parte del mundo para producir un artículo que será publicado en una edición de Arte al Día International. Y.ES Arts Writers Grant is dedicated to promoting arts criticism and arts coverage of contemporary creative practice in and about El Salvador. This year, one $500 grant is awarded to a writer from anywhere in the world to produce an article to be published in the December issue of Arte al Día International.

Descripción del Premio

Independent jurors Paola Ibarra, Tom Healy and Adriana Herrera selected the proposal "Precariousness, the future and cardboard artifacts: Simón Vega’s vision from the third world" by Guatemala City arts professional Josseline Pinto. The article will be printed in the fall edition of Arte al diá International. Josseline Pinto is an independent curator, researcher and poet. She co-founded and directs MANIFESTO-espacio, a project for experimental exhibitions, workshops, research and production of contemporary art. She is currently the educational program curatorial assistant at Museo Arte Guatemala, and traveled to El Salvador as part of a 2018 Y.ES Art Trip.
