Descripción del Premio
This year, YES launches its new program, YES Contemporary Institute, focused in education, professional development, and generating critical dialogues surrounding art practice in El Salvador and Central America. The program, formerly known as Artist Academy, has shifted its focus and expanded to better address the needs of the artist community in El Salvador.
YES Contemporary will work with a group of 5 Fellows for 2 years, connecting them with curators, scholars, writers and other art professionals, as well as developing internships within the region. Additionally, YES will provide support for exhibitions, residencies, and travel. With this program, YES aims to provide the tools for the advancement of their professional practices.
The independent jurors, Claire Gilman, Josseline Pinto and Dalia Chévez selected Antonio Romero, Natalia Domínguez, Gabriela Novoa, Aria XYX and Amanda Hernández to participate in this program.
