Those photographs have been taken in different places: in my neighborhood, at the countryside, at races, in Lisbon, in Paris, hence the name of « Where Are We Now » to present them all together. I find myself at a loss to specifically talk about them because they have nothing in common, they are not part of a serie or a project. They are just unspectacular moments taken while wandering here and there. A famous writer, Haruki Murakami, said «If you can’t understand it without an explanation, you can’t understand it with an explanation.» Explanations could limit the imagination of the viewers so I prefer not saying much words and let the viewer construct their own narrative.
ISA GELB
She’s a graphic designer and analog photographer based in Paris (France). Photography is the medium that allows her to express herself and create her own world in a unique and quirky way....In 2014, she created “Underdogs”, a photography magazine to present and share the works of other contemporary photographers that she greatly appreciates. She has learned a lot from the curatorial process through working on “Underdogs”. Specifically, she says that by placing one image near another leaves each intact, but creates a «third thing» that is also interesting and uncanny. Most recently, she has created White Light Collective along with 6 other photographers, an international collective of like minded photographers.
