Descripción del Premio

Sharjah Art Foundation invites photographers to submit their work for Vantage Point Sharjah 9 (VPS9), the ninth iteration of Sharjah Art Foundation's annual photography initiative, which aims to foster the development and creativity of photographers, and encourages their engagement with the wider cultural community. The open call welcomes submissions from both local and international photographers in one of the following categories: Photojournalism and Documentary, Conceptual, Experimental and Staged photography. Applicants are free to choose their own theme and artistic approach. One winner in each category will be selected by the 2021 jury comprised of Ammar Al Attar (Artist), Sham Enbashi (Photographer and Architect), M’hammed Kilito (Photographer) and Alia Al Shamsi (Author and Artist) to receive a prize of USD 1,500. Photographs selected for VPS9 will be presented in an exhibition scheduled to open on 18 September 2021 at the Foundation’s off-site venue Al Hamriyah Studios. The application deadline is 11:00 pm (UAE time), 3 July 2021.
