Descripción de la Exposición
For the micro exhibition at the Mùltiplos bookstore, curator and book collector Moritz Küng selected 10 iconic titles from his on–going research on unprinted, blank appearing, deconstructed or dysfunctional books. They all have in common that there is –at least partially– not much to read since texts are dissolving, based on abstract alphabets, printed tone-in-tone, cut out from the pages or just not printed. Utopia Pack [I – III] refers on one hand to the famous classic of literature written by Thomas More in 1516, in which he describes the ideal world of an egalitarian society. On the other hand, the missing or disappearing content in those books unfolds a rich and peculiar panorama of ideas that deals with the purity of language as a universal given.
The ten selected books –retail copies, reprints, facsimile and limited editions published between 1976 and 2016– are arranged in three “packs” and only available during the exhibition while stock last. The books presented are by: Åbäke (GB), Jéremie Bennequin (FR), Noëlle Cuppens (NL), Kajsa Dahlberg (DK), Cerith Wyn Evans (GB), Jean Keller (CH), Mikko Kuorinki (FN), George Maciunas (US), Herman de Vries (NL), and Karen Willey (NL).
