Berlin Sessions Residency is announcing an open call for a self-guided summer residency in Berlin to take place during the three months of June, July and August 2018. The opportunity is open to international artists, curators, researchers, creatives who would like to spend time on self-organized research, develop a body of work, use the city as a stage to connect, study and gain knowledge. Time & Space is a module of Berlin Sessions Residency created to give an opportunity for a self-guided residency to two individuals. As an organization supporting mobility, we find it important to offer talented creatives a chance to get to know a city such as Berlin and provide a safe environment at the entry stage. Selected applicants will receive a place to stay and work for the period of the three months. Access to our bright and comfortable 160 sqm apartment with balconies, bedrooms and a shared studio space of 35 sqm. Moreover, during our monthly meetings, we will give residents feedback in regards to their projects, point thematic connections with institutions and organizations in Berlin, suggest further direction. The individual application consists of a very short project idea (1500 characters) and a link to a website/online portfolio. An interim decision will be made based on the artistic quality leading to a pleasant skype conversation. Cost of the three months residency is 750 EUR which can be paid in 3 installments. Housing (bedroom & access to shared studio), utilities, internet, bedding included. Deadline for the application is 4th of June (Monday) at 7 pm (CEST). Before applying please note that Time & Space module differs from our main program of designed and intensive residencies realized with support of partner institutions. Next open call for the three months self-guided residency will be announced in August for the period of October, November, December 2018. Time & Space is a module of Berlin Sessions Residency, a project by Andrzej Raszyk in cooperation with Berlinerpool Arts Network.
