Descripción de la Exposición
This special exhibition, from the collection of Madeleine P. Plonsker, documents the artistic path of contemporary Cuban photography from 1992 (when the Soviets left the island) to the present. A book of the same name was published in 2015 by Lake Forest College. Plonsker began traveling to Havana in 2002, and her efforts have brought recognition to many artists whose work was unknown in the U.S. Featuring work by Juan Carlos Alom, Arien Chang, Adrian Fernandez, Eduardo Garcia, Eduardo Hernandez, Alejandro Gonzalez, Liudmila & Nelson, and Alejandro Perez, the collection aims to express the concerns of Cuba’s artistic community as it evolves and grows.
