Descripción de la Exposición
Salomé Lamas (b. 1987, Portugal) is a filmmaker and artist based in Lisbon. She makes work employing ethnography, storytelling, and performance to consider themes of history and memory. Her subject matter includes colonial violence and the realms of global capital in an attempt to excavate realities underrepresented in the collective unconscious, the media, popular culture, and mythology.
This exhibition brings together video, objects, and text drawn from Lamas’s Gaia project. The focus is on a meteorite, which the artist situates between fact and fiction. She produces a variety of narratives combining scientific and technological endeavors with philosophical reflections. The project speculates on the relationships between humans, ecology, extraterrestrial phenomena, and politics.
