Descripción de la Exposición
In “Remembering Something Differently,” Oscar Abraham Pabón explores the Platonic theory of recollection as a form of knowledge. The works collected here are predicated on the same premise of taking a memory or idea from the past and carrying it into the present by altering its original structure: a wall clock telling a different time than the place we are in; clothes dissected and intervened in colored chalk; scaffolding on which hangs a series of ceramics and plants awaiting an interlocutor; drawings reflecting the patterns of plastic fruit and vegetable crates, along with a playlist of peripheral tracks that accompanied the artist’s childhood. Though dissimilar in appearance, once we gain a grasp of the references and ideas behind them, the group of works in this exhibition gradually reveal the multiple dimensions of their inner worlds.
