Descripción de la Exposición

reForm was inspired by our Youth Advisory Council, a group of high schoolers from North Philadelphia who develop their own programming each year. A few years ago they focused on school closures. We've commissioned artist Pepón Osorio to create a new installation specifically addressing school closures. Osario is focusing on the loss of Fairhill Elementary School, which is close to Temple University and was closed in 2013. Osorio and the Fairhill community will gather with items from the recently closed classrooms as they are brought onto Temple's campus. The objects will be incorporated into an installation inside a Tyler School of Art classroom and connected to programming as away to bring the community back together and imagine ways to move forward.
