photo basel is Switzerland’s first and only international art fair dedicated to the photographic medium. photo basel’s broad aspiration is to be an international art fair dedicated to photography based art from classic to contemporary that is fostering the dialogue and exchange between all photography aficionados. In order to gain maximum momentum, photo basel takes place in Basel during Art Basel week. photo basel takes place at the Volkshaus Basel – just a few blocks away from acclaimed Messeplatz with Art Basel, the fair runs from 14 – 18 June 2017. From its foundation year in 2015, photo basel has become established as one of the most prominent photography fairs in the German speaking world. This year, a contingent of 34 galleries (16 nations and 5 continents), both young and more established, present works of art from far over one hundred artists.
