Descripción de la Exposición
Henrique Pavão was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1991.
In 2013 he completed his degree in sculpture at the Faculdade de Belas Artes of the Universidade de Lisboa, and in the same year he debuted his solo exhibition, Transform the Space Using the Space, at Sótão, in Lisbon. Between 2014 and 2016, he was awarded with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and completed his master degree in Visual Arts at the Malmö Art Academy, where he studied under the orientation of the danish artist Joachim Koester.
As a result of the conclusion of his degree, Henrique Pavão presented his solo exhibition, Fallen Between Cracks (2016), at the KHM Gallery, in Malmö, for which he received the Edstrandska Stiftelsens Stipendium award. In that same year, he was nominated for the Novo Banco Revelation award, from the Serralves Foundation, and won a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Arts, Stockholm.
In Lisbon, he showcased Wherever I am not is the Place where I am myself, at Appleton Square, in 2017.
He participated in collective exhibitions, of which Edstrandska Stiftelsens Stipendiater, KHM Gallery, in Malmö, and Grant Holder Show, at The Royal Academy of Arts, Stockholm, stands out, both in 2016.
In 2017 he also participated in “AnoZero’17”, Coimbra’s Biennale, curated by Delfim Sardo and Luíza Teixeira de Freitas, and presented his first institutional exhibition antes e depois de antes, at Culturgest Porto, also curated by Delfim Sardo.
Now I Became Aged, curated by Sérgio Mah, is Pavão's first individual exhibition at UMA LUKIK__.
Henrique Pavão lives and works in Lisbon.
