Opening Wednesday October 27 > 4:00 to 10:00 PM Other days Thursday October 28 > 2:00 to 9:00 PM Friday October 29 > 2:00 to 9:00 PM Saturday October 30 > 2:00 to 9:00 PM Sunday October 31 > 12:00 to 6:00 PM * with works by AnaMary Bilbao, Diogo Bolota, Catarina Mil-Homens, Klaus Mosettig, Paulo Lisboa, Carolina Serrano Following the presentation of SALTO HORIZONTAL at Zaratan (on 18th September) and INSPIRA, SUSTÉM, SOPRA to be shown in the coming 23rd and 24th of October at Purga space (Vila Luz, Estefânia, Lisboa), Diogo Bolota closes this triptych with the work NO REPLY DELIVERY SYSTEM., an installation with sound in which - according to Isabel Cordovil - «in this line of thought brings us, at the last moment, to FLR - Fundação Leal Rios and at this battle that we are witnessing today. Two contemporary goddesses, Venus and Serena, symbols of excellence in their sport, are face to face, somewhere, measuring strength. So much space for so much absence. "Powder dust is the annulment of the body's form, like reducing a plaster sculpture to dust", you Diogo, said. And also: "The field/space becomes the negative of the subject, its absence is the negative as in the mold. It's the inside of the empty mold. An exhibition produced by UMA LULIK__ with the logistic support of FLR - Fundação Leal Rios Diogo Bolota (Lisboa, 1988) lives and works in Lisboa. He studied Painting at the Faculdade de Belas-Artes – Universidade de Lisboa (2006-2008), holds a BA in Architecture from the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (2008-2012) and a MA in Drawing from the University of the Arts, London (2012-2013). Bolota has been exhibiting his work since 2014. The artist presented the solo shows: Defeito Desfeito, Quartel da Arte Contemporânea de Abrantes – Coleção Figueiredo Ribeiro (Abrantes, 2020); Objectar, Museu Geológico (Lisboa, 2016); Esgaravatar, Casa-Museu Medeiros e Almeida (Lisboa, 2016); Synalepha, Museu de Arte Contemporânea (Sintra, 2016); Sabotagem, Programa Expedição, Maus Hábitos (Porto, 2015); in a project room named S/ Ponto de Fuga, A Cunha, (Lisboa, 2015). He participated in group shows such as: Eco (da ideia à obra de arte), Galeria Liminare (Lisboa, 2018); Nome do meio, Moradia (Lisboa, 2018); Cidade Jardim, with Fernando Brito, Galeria Diferença (Lisboa, 2017); Que farei eu com esta espada?, Zaratan (Lisboa, 2017); Babel, Miguel Justino Contemporary Art (Lisboa, 2015); Canto Chanfrado, Avenida 211 (2014, Lisboa); Diogo Bolota has also participated in Tapada da Tojeira and República das Artes de Cerveira — residencies program (2016). His work was published in Caixa Negra’s catalogue from Maus Hábitos, Guião from the Casa-Museu Medeiros e Almeida and is part of the catalogue by Novo Banco Revelação 2017. He was shortlisted to Novo Banco Revelação 2017 Award at Fundação Serralves (Porto).
