Theme The theme of 'Navarino Natura Art Award 2011' is 'Green Art and Nature.' In 2011 we invite video artworks or video installations that express the harmonious co-existence of art and nature. 2. Submission Timeline Applications accepted between Friday, April 1 and Monday, May 2 2011. Applications received after 17.00 (GMT) of May 2 2011 will not be accepted. Only online applications are acceptable. Applications can be submitted online: www.navarinoart.com The winner of 'Navarino Natura Art Award 2011' will be announced via our homepage: www.navarinoart.com. 3. Entry Conditions -The competition is open to any artist or artists' group of any nationality. - Artwork Format: Any existing and complete contemporary video artwork or video installation (video art or animation) - Space provided: a dark room that is 4 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 2.5 meters high. There will be one entrance located depending on the proposed artwork. - Electricity and audiovisual equipment will be provided as needed. - No artist's concepts or works in progress are eligible. - Proposed artworks must address ecological issues - The proposed work may or may not have already been exhibited elsewhere - Only one proposal per artist will be accepted - Video artworks in original language versions can be accepted if they are subtitled in English. - Submitted artworks must be original and may not infringe on the rights of a third party. 4. Award The winning submission will be presented in the designated exhibition space of the Navarino Natura Hall for a period of up to one year, and the artist will receive a monetary award of 5000 Euros. 5. Evaluation process Phase 1 - Screening process Entries will be reviewed by a committee of appointed advisors. The committee will not examine entries that fail to comply with the conditions mentioned. The short-listed artists or artist groups will be notified for additional information if needed. Phase 2 - Final selection The short-listed works will be judged by a Selection Committee, which will consist of experts and authorities in art, design and ecology, as well as members of Costa Navarino Kalfayan Galleries and Organization Earth. 6. Submission requirements and conditions No fee of any kind is required. Application Form should be submitted online: www.navarinoart.com Application Material: 1. Brief description of the concept. (Max. 150 words.) 2. Brief description of any special technical requirements. (Max. 100 words). 3. Up to 3 still images or photographs (Jpg max.400kb, at least 600 pixels wide, 72 dpi) 4. Brief artist bio. (Max. 200 words) 5. Video, or external link. (swf, mpeg, avi, mov, mp4, max: 10 mb) 7. Rights All moral and economic rights in the works submitted shall remain with the artist / applicant at all times, provided however that, as of the receipt of a submission, Costa Navarino shall have the right, free of any charge and without prior notice, to use and upload text and digital material (e.g. photographs, still images or video) from the work submitted on the Costa Navarino website (www.navarinoart.com) and to use it for Costa Navarino's marketing and publicity purposes, including but not limited to press material, catalogues, website and third-party marketing in printed and electronic media, [always provided that the name of the artist shall be mentioned]. For the avoidance of doubt, the submission of a proposal shall constitute unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.
