Descripción de la Exposición
Miró & CoBrA. The joy of experiment explores the relationship between Joan Miró and the CoBrA movement. Two of the founders of the movement, Constant Nieuwenhuys and Asger Jorn, met for the first time at an exhibition of Miró in Paris. In the last real CoBrA exhibition in Liège in 1952, the work of Miró hung next to that of Karel Appel.
The unifying factor between Joan Miró and the Cobra artists is an experimental approach to art. The late work of Miro is characterized by a liberation of form, gesture and material. This work is less known to the general public. And now, in addition to the well-known earlier work, for the first time in the Netherlands.
