Descripción de la Exposición

Victoria Sterkel is exhibiting a series of abstract paintings in Galeria Merida. The theme, Mar de Amor, takes us through an emotional journey. Victoria's field of colors layer gold leaf under oil and acrylic paints to achieve a dream like sense of passing through multiple levels of emotions

 

The sea and nature are represented by a balance of shapes. Primary colors evoke primary feelings rounded, feminine lines create cloud like planes. Her execution of color gives a sense of being washed over leaving the viewer in a restful and peaceful state.

 

Victoria states about her work: 'my work is about taking a breath and slowing down to observe an inner space, a little mini universe. I like to say my work is visceral, and not about logic or reason and very transparent. I use abstracted land or sea scapes to paint about hope, joy or sometimes the mundane.'
