Mayson Gallery presents a solo exhibition of superb work by Spanish artist LUIS BURGOS.

 

Burgos, one of the most distinctive figurative painters from the Spanish Contemporary art scene, was first introduced to New Yorkers by the Showroom de Coolture Spain of New York. We are thrilled to extend his show and introduce him to an even broader audience.

 

'What can we say of its colors?' They are surprising, strong colors, saturated, contrasted, bright..., apparently impossible to mix, except for Luis Burgos. The expressiveness of his pieces is due to his color as well as to the unique forms of his charters. The different tones create an ambiance, a peculiar atmosphere, with its lights and shadow, with its mellow and transparent tints illustrating the feelings of its characters. The excellent pigments play a special and preponderant role. Nevertheless, the eyes, like windows to the soul are what stand out the most. The power of the look pales even the strongest colors.'
