Descripción de la Exposición ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Invaliden1 Galerie announces the exhibition 'Love Triangle' in Stockholm, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Stockholm, Instituto Cervantes and the Spanish Embassy Stockholm. The title of the exhibition 'Love Triangle' describes a triangular constellation that mostly refers to a romantic relationship between three lovers, but can also be a platonic partnership. Usually, love triangles are based on mutual attraction; at the same time they also involve conflicts, jealousy, the need to make decisions and mutual learning processes. The exhibition 'Love Triangle' deals with the relationship between Germany, Sweden and Spain on the one hand, and with the exhibiting artists' investigations into memories on the other hand - be it on a personal, cultural or historical-political level. Moreover, the artists have one thing in common: All of them have exhibited at the artist-run space invaliden1 in Berlin. The gallery was founded in 2005 with the goal to create a platform for presenting the work of its founders and other Berlin-based artists. The founders operate as artists who support their colleagues, and simultaneously act in the role of a curator and even gallerist. Thus, they contribute to the dynamic art scene of the city and in turn generate the freedom to make their own exhibitions and even determine the context programme of the space in which they show. New forms of collaboration, critical exchange with colleagues during the projects and international networks are the results of this approach.
