Descripción de la Exposición Part of the gallery is being turned into a studio space for Dutch artist Jochem Rotteveel. The artist works heavily with tape and invites visitors to interact with him and experience the work in progress. For eight weeks ( September and October ), a part of the gallery will be transformed into studio space for the artists Jochem Rotteveel. The Dutch artist investigates the picturesque qualities of tape and is happy to give additional information on his artistic research. Pantocrator Gallery invites the public to interact with the artist, experience the work in progress and watch the dynamic of the gallery space as it changes during his residency program. Jochem Rotteveel is a Dutch artist who graduated two years ago. His artistic research focuses primarily on the undefined borders between various disciplines and materials, in order to further stretch those borders. He selects materials that fit his visual language and his way of working. He explores the borders of paint by demonstrating the picturesque qualities of construction tape. Other construction materials further inspire him in his exploring the border between low and high materials, as well as the border between 2d and 3d. This becomes visible in his tape paintings, as well as in his wall installations. Shortly after graduation Rotteveel had a solo exhibition at MKgallery in Rotterdam and presented work at international fairs like Art Amsterdam, Art Rotterdam and SWAB Barcelona with Pantocrator Gallery. He further exhibited twice at frontviews gallery in Berlin and is currently artist in residence at Pantocrator Gallery in Shanghai.
