Descripción de la Exposición

Galerie Scheffel welcomes a solo exhibition by Joana Vasconcelos at its recently open exhibition space Jakobshallen – a former 18th century church in the surroundings of Bad Homburg castle. The exhibition will feature works from the textile series, with Loft at its centre – twelve walls lined with different coverings (marble, wallpaper, stainless steel, wood, stucco, mirror, mosaic tiles, carpet and lacquered paint) simulate the different rooms of the house. Colourful tentacular textile shapes erupt from the walls and spread through the gallery, creating a bizarre yet familiar atmosphere. The show will open out to the garden of Jakobshallen, with Ostfriesland, a new outdoor work from the wrought iron series.
