Descripción de la Exposición D+T Project Gallery presents a group show of works by Ivan Argote, Adrian Melis and Ahmet Ögüt. Marking the first time these artists have shown together, this show seeks to draw comparisons between their multimedia practice and illuminate the ways in which each artist uses a visual language to comment on social issues. Ivan Argote (b.1983, Colombia) deals with social, political and art historical fields. He interrogates the views and perspectives imposed by our social positions but also the status of an artwork, which he addresses by fictionalising the everyday. Adrian Melis (b.1985, Cuba) deals with social and urban issues, such as the working conditions in Cuba. Melis states that his work 'explores the sociopolitical, legal or economical structures generated by persons who try to evade or subvert those rigid rules'. Ahmet Ögüt (b.1981 Turkey) investigates the ways of disrupting social protocols, Ö?üt creates small, fragmented stories that reference topics such as religion, social customs and war -often with the use of humour- to focus on society's constraints and absurdities
