New York, NY – January 14, 2025 – The International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) Print Fair is pleased to announce an expanded list of 75 exhibitors participating in the 2025 edition, which will be held March 27–30 at the historic Park Avenue Armory, anchored by a new immersive installation by renowned artist Mickalene Thomas.
“After the success of the IFPDA’s 2024 return to the Park Avenue Armory, applications to exhibit at the 2025 fair were the strongest we’ve seen and booths sold out nine months ago”, said Jenny Gibbs, Executive Director of the IFPDA and IFPDA Print Fair. “We are also beyond excited to be (finally) working with Mickalene Thomas on a major new commission for the IFPDA, having started the conversation in 2020 before COVID. Mickalene is creating two rooms which are not unlike her collages in the sense that they layer together different influences and source material while also allowing people to see themselves in these emotionally charged spaces.”
The IFPDA Print Fair gathers galleries, private dealers, and fine art print studios from across the U.S., UK, Europe, and Africa to present the rich history of printmaking—one of the most collaborative and technical artistic mediums—with curated booth presentations ranging from Old Masters to Modernists and the most exciting contemporary artists of today. Major exhibitors include Berggruen Gallery, Gemini G.E.L. at Joni Moisant Weyl, Carolina Nitsch, Cristea Roberts Gallery, Lelong Editions, Pace Prints, Polígrafa Obra Gràfica, Hauser & Wirth, and David Zwirner.
At the 2025 IFPDA Print Fair, Mickalene Thomas presents an immersive site-specific installation pushing the boundaries of printmaking by highlighting its flexibility and new technological innovations. Produced with support from the IFPDA and the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation, this special presentation will greet visitors at the main entrance in rooms where every element—from the floor coverings to the plants, and furniture—is crafted from prints and cast paper.
“The International Fine Print Dealers Association hosts the most important print fair in the world! As a major supporter, I am very excited and honored to sponsor a groundbreaking installation piece by internationally recognized artist Mickalene Thomas,” said Jordan Schnitzer, ARTnews Top 200 Collector and Founder of the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation, which has organized more than 180 exhibitions and loaned thousands of works to over 120 museums. “I am fortunate to have a number of her works in our collection, which have toured nationally. Mickalene is a true pioneer of the medium, and her work has continually redefined the landscape of contemporary prints. We are thrilled to showcase her extraordinary talent at the Park Avenue Armory.”
BNY Wealth—the Fair’s new VIP Partner—presents a special exhibition entitled “There will be difficulty, but not we hope insurmountable: Selections from the BNY Collection”, curated by art historian and author Susan Tallman. The title of the project comes from a letter from Alexander Hamilton to George Washington about “the subject of money”—how to insure a national financial system that could pay for defense and other necessities. Hamilton went on the become the country’s first Secretary of the Treasury. He would also be a party to the founding of the Bank of New York. The exhibition explores the inextricable links between nation, money, and art with historical artifacts and contemporary works in conversation between history and the contemporary world. The presentation includes prints by Julie Mehretu, Jasper Johns, and Robert Rauschenberg; a copper plate for engraving an early stock certificate from the Bank of New York, the first publicly traded company connected to the New York Stock Exchange; a series of engraved banknotes dating back to the 18th century; and aquatints from the Hudson River Portfolio by William Guy Wall (1792–1864).
The anticipation around this year’s fair has already begun with Studio Visit—an innovative fundraising event offering intimate, exclusive studio tours with renowned artists such as Jeff Koons, Marilyn Minter, Mickalene Thomas, Jeffrey Gibson, and Rashid Johnson. The event raised more than $50,000 in support of the non-profit IFPDA Foundation, which funds internships, and exhibition and research grants. All ticket proceeds from the IFPDA Print Fair also benefit the IFPDA Foundation.
The IFPDA Print Fair is the longest-running and largest international art fair dedicated to prints and editions. With more than three decades of history, the Fair has become an unmissable event on the art world’s calendar, attracting curators, collectors, artists, and industry experts from around the globe.
"We are thrilled to welcome a global array of collectors, museum curators, and newcomers alike to this year’s IFPDA Print Fair as we showcase the remarkable breadth of printmaking throughout history," said Anders Bergstrom, Chair of the IFPDA Print Fair Committee. "The fair offers exceptional works from top galleries and publishers worldwide while also highlighting the enduring vitality and innovation within the print medium. As we celebrate another year, we remain committed to fostering a deeper appreciation for prints and their unique contribution to the art world."
