D+T Project Gallery is thrilled to present another thematic exhibition that brings together artist from various horizons. This time, Historiology / Archaeography broadly explores the idea of archaeology. The title considers the notion of an indefinite border between various ideas, such as accumulation and sedimentation, classification, artefact, fake, ready made, history, sociology, politics, environment, performance, etc. Thus the exhibited artworks refer to the notion of archaeology in a direct way or as a metaphorical reference.
Historiology / Archaeography tends to point out the way an object can exist in the nowadays global post-consumer context. Also, the process of musealisation is at the core of the project; through the variety of artworks it clearly questions the course where the idea prevails over pure aesthetical values. Consequently a strong resistance towards pure aestheticisation is traceable within the featured works. Furthermore, references to other concepts are to be mentioned, including process, context, reality/fiction, utopias, etc.
