Descripción de la Formación
Talking Galleries is proud to partner with Sotheby’s Institute of Art for the second time to host a new online course.
Following the success of the first course held jointly last July 2021, “Global Art Fairs” is an essential live course to understand the complex origins and history of art fairs and their relevance in today’s art ecosystem.
The 5-session premier course will be led by PhD and art writer Paco Barragán, alongside Talking Galleries’ Director Llucià Homs, and will count with the contribution of key industry experts with extensive experience on art fairs.
Among the contributors are included Adeline Ooi (director Art Basel Hong Kong), Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (art collector, Turin), Rosina Gómez Baeza (former director ARCOmadrid), Alain Quemin (professor of sociology of art, Paris), Sabrina Amrani (Sabrina Amrani Gallery, Madrid), Amanda Coulson (former director VOLTA SHOW, Bahamas), and Alain Servais (collector and entrepreneur), among others.
Paco Barragán is a Madrid-based PhD, conferencier, coach and curator. He has focused his area of research on the history of art fairs. He authored two books on the subject, The Art Fair Age (2008) and, more recently, From Roman Feria to Global Art Fair, From Olympia Festival to Neo-liberal Biennial: On the 'Biennalization' of Art Fairs and the 'Fairization' of Biennials (2020).
