Descripción de la Exposición
The exhibition of the 21 shortlisted artists for the 5th edition of the Future Generation Art Prize will focus on the presentation of recent and newly produced works. The first global art prize for artists aged 35 or younger, established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009, 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of the prize’s founding.
The artists in the exhibition are: Alia Farid (33 – Kuwait), Monira Al Qadiri (35 – Senegal \ Kuwait), Yu Araki (33 – Japan), Korakrit Arunanondchai (31 – Thailand \ United States), Kasper Bosmans (28 – Belgium), Madison Bycroft (31 – Australia \ France), Gabrielle Goliath (34 – South Africa), Rodrigo Hernández (34 – Mexico \ Portugal), Laura Huertas Millán (35 – Colombia \ France), Marguerite Humeau (31 – France), Eli Lundgaard (28 – Norway \ Sweden), Taus Makhacheva (35 – Russia), Toyin Ojih Odutola (33 - Nigeria \ United States), Sondra Perry (31 – United States), Gala Porras-Kim (33 – Colombia \ United States), Emilija Skarnulyte (31 – Lithuania), Jakob Steensen (31 – Denmark \ United States), Daniel Turner (35 – United States), Anna Zvyagintseva (32 – Ukraine) and artist collectives Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme and Cooking Sections.
The main prize will be awarded by an international jury in the amount of US$ 100 000, split between $60 000 in cash and $40 000 investment in the production of a new work. In addition US$ 20 000 will be awarded to up to five Special Prize winners, nominated by the Jury. The award ceremony will take place in March 2019.
