Descripción del Premio
The Fund for Korean Art Abroad (FKAA) is a grant program established to promote Korean contemporary visual art to an international audience and to support exhibitions of Korean artists overseas. The program is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Korea and managed by the Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS). The FKAA directly awards grants to international art organizations, both non-profit and commercial, that (1) invite Korean artists to exhibit their artworks; (2) collaborate with Korean partners—including curators, galleries, and other relevant organizations—to present exhibitions of Korean artists; or, (3) collaborate with Korean artists/partners to produce and exhibit commissioned artworks.
The open call for the FKAA’s second year occurred from December 3, 2018 to February 27, 2019. KAMS selected 10 applications among the 81 applications received during this open call. Following a session that reviewed the applications, the screening committee further assessed the applications by conducting interviews with the representatives of the applicants. For more information about the screening criteria and the comments made by the screening committee, please visit: KAMS NOW.
