Descripción de la Exposición
In light of global health concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) and following advice and restrictions from local, national, international and health authorities, we regret to announce the cancellation of Frieze New York 2020.
We are grateful to everyone who has worked so hard in preparation for this year’s fair, and thank all our participating galleries, curators, partners, staff, and the New York community for their unwavering support.
We have also postponed Frieze Sculpture at Rockefeller Center, which will now open in the summer of 2020. We will update everyone with further information in the coming weeks.
We look forward to Frieze New York 2021.

Frieze today announced its 200 participating galleries for Frieze New York 2020, from leading blue-chip galleries to the most exciting young spaces. Randolph said, ‘Frieze New York is recognized for its rigorous and innovative programming, and as a platform for galleries to present dedicated solo or dual artist presentations, as well as curated group shows. I'm thrilled to see in 2020 how many galleries are once again treating the fair as an extension of their exhibition programs. As a result, collectors and patrons, museum professionals, and the public are able to experience a range of high-quality mini exhibitions all in one place. There are so many opportunities this year for discovery, and I’m particularly excited by the number of presentations that will feature female artists.’
Siddall added, ‘I’m thrilled to see the leading galleries in New York come out to support the fair, with major figures such as Marian Goodman, Luhring Augustine, Matthew Marks, Skarstedt and Pace Gallery joining for 2020. This has resulted in an exhibitor list that reflects the city’s pivotal role in the global art world as well as presenting an international overview of contemporary art.’
Frieze New York Gallery Sections
Reflecting some of the most-timely conversations in contemporary art today, Frieze New York's five themed sections offer opportunities to discover up-and-coming talent and engage with the practices of some of art history's most important figures. Overseen by internationally renowned museum directors and curators, each section explores a theme or highlights significant artists.
The five sections include:
New for 2020: Chicago Tribute
Tributes to U.S. gallery and artist communities have become a staple of Frieze New York, with a dedicated section each year. Previous sections have paid homage to Hudson of Feature Gallery and Linda Goode Bryant and Just Above Midtown, J.A.M. In 2020, Frieze New York will pay homage to the pioneering women artists of Chicago, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the ratification of women’s right to vote. Curated by Julie Rodrigues Widholm (Director and Chief Curator, DePaul Art Museum), who was just named ‘Chicagoan of the Year’ by the Chicago Tribune, the section will unfold throughout the fair, featuring presentations by eminent artists such as Gladys Nilsson (Garth Greenan), Suellen Rocca (Matthew Marks), Clare Rojas (Kavi Gupta), Evelyn Statsinger (Richard Gray), Faith Wilding (Anat Ebgi), Torkwase Dyson (Rhona Hoffman), Melissa Leandro (Andrew Rafacz), amongst others.
Continuing its commitment to collaborating with and supporting arts institutions, Frieze will gift $25,000 to DePaul Art Museum, which focuses its program on artists of color, women and LGBTQ artists, to acquire a work by one of the artists featured in the section for its collection.
Diálogos: Celebrating Latin American, Latino and LatinX Artists
