Föhnfest - Plattform-days for Interactors
Upwind for networking and participation in arts and culture
The Föhnfest is a multimedia event-week which will take place at Die Bäckerei Kulturbackstube in october 2014 with the intention to serve as a communication-plattform for creative artists and cultural agents who themselves enhance and further develop it over the course. The aim is to provide creative agents from different fields with an open space to be used and configured (in the calendar as well as in the building) in which they won’t just „present“ their works but realise their own event- or project-concepts and establish new contacs. Everything is possible – from theatreperformance to panel discussion, from creative workshops to experimental concerts – and self-developed formats are welcome. We are especially interested in projects that grapple (in content odr form) with participation and that support and advance the communication and interaction during the festival. The outgoing open call will be announced publicly as well as through the channels of our partner-organisations and it is directed to people, who don’t have access to the space they need, but are interested in actively setting their hands to realise their project and who work self-initiated. Die Bäckerei-Kulturbackstube offers an ideal frame for this undertaking and its team will closely collaborate with the CopyCats association in executing and connecting the individual projects and the festival as a whole. The open space will go hand in hand with the open source principle: exceeding the exchange of manifest material, technique, space and work force, there will be a digital plattform serving the transfer of information and methods. Latter will be implemented prior to the event days and it will be open for use afterwards as well to hopefully promote the development and implementation of ideas by sharing and reflecting them together with other agents all over the world. The concept of the föhnfest is particularly interesting for regional participants, precisely because it facilitates exchange and networking on a local and an international level. To ensure the low threshold and the inclusive character of the events in all areas, there will only be admission fees in form of contributions towards expenses for workshops and similar formats.
Aims:
Support of the regional and transregional cross-linkage of artistic and cultural projects to engourage collaborations and exchange – thereby promoting the successfull implementation of local and transregional projects
Implementing the first multimedia art festival in Tirol that is actually open for everyone
Taking the educational mandate seriously – through providing a low threshold access to a cultural event, through the interactive character of the actions happening, through offering a diverse program that inculdes acitivties for all age-ranges, through promoting the open source principle
Formal and non-formal learning methods come into effect not only in workshops and lectures but in all parts of the festival
Inclusion of cultural agent, that are often left out at common art festivals
Support for the work of tirolean artists – by presenting them but even more by offering further education, by strengthening their self-confidence and -awareness as artists and by promoting a culture of exchange on a local and transregional level
Achieve sustainable interconnectedness that leads to fertile cooperations and to more and more succescully implemented projects
